This Privacy Policy describes how Family Calendar Dashboard ("we", "us", or "our"), available at familydashboard.app, collects, uses, shares, protects and deletes your information. Family Calendar Dashboard is a read-only home display that shows a family's upcoming Google Calendar events and a weekly illustrated summary. It never creates, edits or deletes anything in your Google account.

1. Information We Access and Collect

When you sign in with Google, the app requests read-only access to your Google Calendar. The table below lists exactly which Google user data we access and what we keep.

We do not collect event descriptions, attendee lists, attachments, or any calendar data beyond the coming week. We do not create aggregated or anonymized datasets from Google user data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use Google user data only to provide the user-facing features of the dashboard:

Show your upcoming events on your display.
Let you choose which of your calendars appear.
Use AI to hide routine entries (for example daily class periods on a school calendar) so the display shows what matters, and to draw the weekly summary image.
Keep you signed in on a home display.

We do not use Google user data for advertising, for profiling, for lending or credit decisions, to build or train machine-learning models, or for any purpose other than providing and improving these features.

3. Data Sharing and Transfer

We do not sell Google user data, and we do not share it with data brokers, advertisers or any other third party. Google user data is transferred only to the following service providers, solely to operate the app:

Google Cloud Platform hosts the application and its database.
Google Gemini API (paid tier) receives event titles, times and calendar names to produce the curated agenda and the weekly summary image. Under the Gemini API terms for paid services, Google does not use this content to train or improve its models. We do not use any other AI provider.
Open-Meteo receives only your chosen town or coordinates to fetch the weather forecast; no Google data is sent to it.

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or the public.

4. AI and Machine Learning

The app uses AI (Google Gemini) to summarize and illustrate your week. Your calendar data is used only to generate output for you. We do not use Google user data, in raw, aggregated or anonymized form, to develop, improve or train any AI or machine-learning model, and we do not transfer it to any AI service that would do so.

The use of raw or derived user data received from Workspace APIs will adhere to the Google User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. How We Protect Your Data

All traffic between your browser, our servers and Google is encrypted with HTTPS.
Data at rest is stored on Google Cloud, which encrypts storage by default.
OAuth tokens are held only on the server and are never exposed to the browser or to other users. API keys are stored in Google Secret Manager, not in the application code.
Every request for your data requires your own signed-in session; users cannot access each other's calendars, settings or images.
Access to production systems is limited to the app's developer.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Calendar events are not retained on our servers. They are fetched live by your browser.
OAuth tokens, settings and generated images are kept while your account is active (retaining generated images for up to 12 months) so the display keeps working.
Sign out (the logout button in Settings) ends your session immediately.
Revoking access at myaccount.google.com/connections invalidates our stored token at once; the app can no longer read your calendar.
Deleting your account and all data: email us (see below) from the Google address you signed in with. We delete your account record, tokens, settings and images within 30 days and confirm by email.

7. Google API Services User Data Policy

Family Calendar Dashboard's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

8. Children

The app is intended for use by adults who manage a household calendar. Family member names and photos are entered by the account holder at their discretion and are used only to personalize that account's display.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy in a way that affects how Google user data is handled, we will update the date above and, for material changes, notify signed-in users on the dashboard.
